A local modern grunge / metal band that have been building a presence on the Cumbrian and wider UK grassroots circuit over the last few years.

​

At our live shows expect to hear a blend of original material and classic grunge + metal covers.

Ego Trip are positioned somewhere between 90s grunge revival (think Alice in Chains / Nirvana style vocal + riff approach) and modern UK underground alt-metal.

Formation & members

From our 2025 podcast interview with Franklins Garage To Stage we shared that the band formed organically at a brewery open mic night when members decided to formalise into a band just coming up with the name on the spot to fill in the sign up sheet.

 

Ego Trip is:

   Will – vocals

   Bean – guitar

   Daz – bass

   Ellis – drums

 

We describe ourselves as collaborative, jokingly calling the dynamic a “dictatorship” while actually working closely as a unit.

Our debut 7 track all original album was recorded at Wreck Studio Services in Carlisle. You can buy or stream on Bandcamp.​​​

Ego Trip put a strong emphasis on riff-driven guitar work with Will's vocals often compared (by fans) to Layne Staley–style grunge delivery. The band live focus on crowd engagement and atmosphere, not just playing songs back to back.

​

In August 2024 Ego Trip played on the Roots stage at Kendal Calling. It was a privilege to be asked to perform at a festival that sold 45,000 tickets that year!

​

In 2026 the band are currently touring monthly with Löser and Bay of Pigs as well actively writing new material for their follow up release, likely to be an E.P. of 4-5 original songs continuing in their style.
