There’s something about seeing two songs back-to-back that gives you a better feel for what a band is really about.
At Kendal Calling 2024, Carlisle band tbk took to the Roots Stage and delivered exactly that—two original tracks, “3” and “Yon,” in one continuous live performance.
Watch the performance
A band doing things their own way
Originally formed as a three-piece, tbk (Tom, Ben, Ky) have always done things a little differently. Even now, they’ve made themselves deliberately harder to find online under the name “tbk.muzak” which is a proper hidden gem approach.
They describe their music as “weird music for weird people,” and this performance shows exactly what they mean. There’s no attempt to fit neatly into a box, just a raw, original sound delivered straight to the crowd.
Two tracks, two sides
Getting “3” and “Yon” in one video gives a broader picture of their style. It’s not just about a single song landing it’s about how they move between ideas and keep things interesting across a set.
Captured in front of the Kendal Calling crowd, it’s a solid snapshot of a band growing into bigger stages.
Cumbria on the map
It’s always good to see local bands stepping up at festivals like this. tbk are carving out their own lane, and moments like this show why they’re starting to get noticed.
If you get the chance to catch them live be sure to take it. You absolutely will NOT regret spending time with these fantastic people.
