There’s nothing quite like a new bass day especially when it’s something this unique.
This all-black Jazz Bass Special is an inspired build is part of the Dark Evil Hate lineup and was created to capture the spirit of one of rock’s most recognisable bass styles while adding a custom identity of its own. Sleek, aggressive, and built for the stage, this bass fits perfectly into Daz's collection.
This build is all about inspiration without imitation, taking something iconic and pushing it into new territory. That’s the philosophy behind all of our gear.
You see, Daz owns a JBS which was originally owned by Duff McKagen. This was the second bass he ever owned and he played it extensively through his formative early band experiences. So naturally when the Duff Signature bass emerged he has to have one and he really fell in love with the addition of the drop tuner as well. So when Daz was having his fakenbastard yin/yang twins made he asked Mr. Shuker to make his own, from scratch, Duff inspried BEAD tuned, complete with drop tuner, Duff style JBS basses and here is the amazing result.
What do you think of the look? Would you play something like this on stage?
In the video below, you can hear it in action as we perform Motörhead’s “Loser” live at O’Rileys in Hull (22 March 2024).
